According to Halifax Parks and Recreation, over the last number of years, Councillor Hendsbee, community groups and associations, and residents have identified several community issues and opportunities that require attention. The members of our society are increasingly asking for a more diverse range of active and passive recreation options. Subsequently, the Regional Council directed that the park plan be prepared. On October 29. 2019 the Regional Council approved the proposed park plan!

The Lake Echo District Park Plan Map above outlines all the amenities and features that will be included within the park plan. This is a great step in the right direction to properly address the needs of our growing community.
